Higher Apprenticeships are available to A level leavers as an alternative to university entry.
Apprentices work towards work-based learning qualifications such as a Level 4 Competence Qualification, Functional Skills and, in some cases, a knowledge-based qualification such as a Foundation Degree. They are available from some of the UK’s leading employers such as BAE Systems, GKN Aerospace and Price Waterhouse Coopers(PWC), Unilever. Entry qualifications are demanding often involving achieving the same grades as for more aspirational universities. They are already proving popular with many more applicants than places. At WG6 we are committed to providing help and support whatever your career plans and so we will be offering a Higher Apprenticeship based Convention. We will provide support through the WG6 careers team to students wanting to find out more and apply down this route. A good website to find out more is the Higher Apprenticeships section in the Apprenticeships website.
